“Fascinating Freshwater Worlds”

Welcome under water! In the show “Freshwater Worlds” the visitors can explore lakes and rivers without getting wet. They dive into a fascinating underwater-world of coloured fresh-water-fish, river crayfish and translucent shrimps.

Some feared “Creatures from the Black Lagoon” are part of the show: the water foams up, seconds later the offered turkey-drumstick is gnawed off to the bone. Piranhas are dangerous predatory fish who are able to gobble up their prey in seconds with the help of their razor-sharp teeth.

One of the highlights of the show is the two metre big round basin with a natural looking, brackish water landscape. Splendid tropical plants flourish on the banks. For the first time visitors are able to watch fish shoals forming, giving the appearance of them being one single organism.
